Get Involved
Host a Baby Shower or Event to Collect Infant Clothing
Get your school or organization to host a shower, party, or event to collect clothing. One of the ways Birthright of Pittsburgh provides practical assistance to clients upon the arrival of a new baby is by giving a layette. Our center has preemie to 12 month size clothing that is new or gently worn.
Some of the items we supply are receiving blankets, undershirts, sleepers, outfits, dresses, snowsuits, socks and diapers. Often we receive beautiful knitted or crocheted blankets, sweaters, dresses, mittens, hats and booties.
Annual Parish Red Rose Day
The annual Red Rose Day is a collection held at your church. After first obtaining permission from your pastor for a designated collection weekend, a notice is placed in your parish bulletin about two weeks in advance and on the day of the collection. A sample bulletin announcement is included in instructions that will be sent you.
A Red Rose Day coordinator arranges for parish volunteers to collect money following all weekend services. Volunteers may hold a basket or canister for donations at parish exits and in turn, donors are given a red paper rose (the symbol of pro-life). At the conclusion of the collections, the coordinator mails Birthright a check.
Collections may be held on a date of your pastor’s choice. For example, October – Respect Life month; December – Christmas; January – to commemorate the anniversary of Roe v. Wade; February – Valentine’s Day; Easter; May – Mother’s Day; or June – Father’s Day, or any day your pastor selects throughout the year.
Free supplies of paper roses, Birthright literature (including Spanish brochures), small posters, sample church bulletin announcements and bulletin board notices will be mailed upon request. Call 412-621-1988 for more information.

Birthright of Pittsburgh hosted an Open House this October celebrating life with food, drinks, and live music. Thanks to everyone in the Pro-life community who joined to make our event a success!

Birthright volunteers attended PCUC’s 50th anniversary luncheon.
Open House Wine & Cheese Diaper Drive
Birthright had its Open House Wine And Cheese Diaper Drive September 2019. Many supporters, volunteers, and board members were present. Our neighbors, the priests at the Oratory of St. Philip Neri, came by to bless our new sign.
